Toby Myerson Chairman and CEO

Our founder, Toby Myerson, has had a career in law and finance spanning four decades. He founded Longsight in 2017 to pursue his passion for helping clients accomplish complex business deals and find solutions to high stakes disputes, governance issues, corporate crises and other challenges. 

Today, his clients include United States and global corporations, financial institutions, significant shareowners, and top executives. He advises on M&A transactions, proxy contests, activist campaigns, corporate governance matters, corporate crises, and resolving disputes. While the work is global, he devotes particular attention to work in Japan and advice to Japanese and Asian institutions.

In addition to his work for Longsight, Mr. Myerson is a senior advisor to Perella Weinberg Partners, a member of the board of directors of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and is lead outside director of MUFG Union Bank, N.A.

Formerly, Mr. Myerson was a Partner and Co-Chair of Global Mergers and Acquisitions at the New York based international law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. During his tenure at Paul, Weiss, Mr. Myerson served for more than 15 years as a member of senior management and as a leader of the corporate practice.

He was previously an investment banker and Managing Director at the boutique investment firm Wasserstein Perella & Co., Inc., heading the operations of that firm in Japan and Asia and providing financial, investment banking, and M&A advice.

Mr. Myerson has served as an adjunct faculty member at Harvard Law School, Yale Law School and the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California Berkeley. He has served as a member of the advisory board of the Harvard Law School program on Corporate Governance and has chaired bar association committees. He has frequently attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Mr. Myerson is also a board member and executive committee member of the Japan Society of New York.

Mr. Myerson received his B.A. from Yale University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.
